Perspektiv Green has sprouted

14.07.10
Perspektiv Group has added another string to its bow with the launch of Perspektiv Green which aims to identify ways to help the company and its clients reduce their carbon footprints through greener practices.
“We are committed to a workplace philosophy that focuses on eliminating and reducing waste and on re-using and recycling materials,” said Ashley Kirkpatrick, Director at Perspektiv Group. “Wherever possible, we source paper, inks and envelopes from companies that follow sound environmental and health and safety practices and use sustainable forest management in their own operations and those of their suppliers.”
“We encourage our clients to move away from large stocks of pre-printed items such as letterheads, leaflets and brochures and instead utilise ‘print on demand’ and ‘just in time’ solutions. We continually check mailing lists to further eliminate waste, with no inaccuracies, duplicates or gone-aways. Naturally, it’s good practice to screen your data through processes such as MPS, TPS, the GAS and NSF files and the Bereavement Register.
Perspektiv Group has also recently undertaken an audit of electricity usage leading to increased staff awareness and improved consistency in powering down machinery, thereby reducing overnight usage by over 50 per cent.
In addition, the company is currently working towards the greenPost accreditation which helps to decrease C02 emissions during the mail delivery process, whilst also helping clients reduce postage costs on every item they send.

“We are also actively encouraging staff to car share and use public transport in an effort to reduce carbon emissions. We have recently joined the Bike 2 Work Scheme to encourage members of staff to cycle to work. We give them a voucher, allowing them to purchase a bike from selected shops at a discounted rate. Then they pay for the bike, in instalments, through their salaries. This follows our decision in December last year to be the first company in Nottingham to take delivery of an Escoota, an electric scooter that provides us with a green and highly cost effective method of transporting small goods around the city,” added Ashley Kirkpatrick.
